Lord Baden-Powell (Young Men of Honor Series / Book 1)

Legacy of Lord Baden-Powell (Hardcover)

$15.99 $12.99

At first glance, it appears to be another ordinary week at Boy Scout camp: campfires, new friends, and great times with adventure.

But this year Camp M. K. Brown is the setting for an extra-special week in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.

As you follow a group of campers pulling pranks, working for merit badges, horseback riding, swimming, and hiking, learn about the history and founder of the Scouting movement, Lord Baden-Powell, who was also an actor and spy.

Enjoy the scary fireside campfire stories, pranks, and famous Scout recipes.

The book is written for youth, but is a good read for all who have an interest in the Scouting program and the impact of Robert Baden-Powell on youth.

It is set in a Texas Scout camp and follows the activities and discoveries of a group of campers developing a video to satisfy the requirements for a merit badge.

The greatest value of the book is its observations about the principles of Baden-Powell as embodied in Scouting. “Scouting is not just a club, but a way of life. That is the legacy of Lord Baden-Powell, spelled out one life at a time.”

    –John P Roberts
